About Awkward Arcade
The Awkward Arcade is a real-life experimental video arcade, showcasing games that make you move and think in ways uncommon in mainstream games culture. The majority of these specially-curated games have never been shown outside of a purely digital environment before.
About MAKE STUFF
This event is part of MAKE STUFF - a series of free coding, making and tech events for both adults and young people this summer brought to you by MadLab, the UK's most active maker space.
Regions will include Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan, but our first stop is at Touchstones in Rochdale on Saturday 23rd July.
Drop by and play on the Awkward Arcade - a real-life experimental video arcade; play on PatternCraft, a hands-on Minecraft-making challenge; explore our virtual reality showcase; make a take-home marble run; learn how to solder with our Build a Badge workshop, and design games characters at the kids Game Craft art table.
We have some brilliant beginners workshops including Programming 101, a whistle-stop tour of everything programming languages can do, and Awkward Arduino where you'll create your very own game while exploring the tech behind the Awkward Arcade. (Both workshops suitable for 14+ / advance booking essential)
