Description

Networking skills are often said to give professionals the edge.  It's perhaps one of the most important leadership competencies, yet it's seldom ever taught.  Those who understand how to leverage their networks usually have greater opportunities and earn substantially higher salaries.  Those who don't, they inevitably get left behind by their more aggressive and socially connected peers.

So, where do you begin in establishing a better network?  How do you nurture strong relationships from a contacts list?  And who are these quality allies anyway, where do you find them?

Join us on 22 November 2016 for Aspiring Executives Committee's (AXC) networking conference.  Meet driven professionals like you and engage with industry leaders, influencers and C-Suite executives.

Who should attend

This conference will be a full day of learning and exercises to connect with other aspiring leaders in London.  If you are looking to progress your career and know that you'd need to become better networked to do so, yet not quite sure of the exact first steps, this is the event for you.

What you'd learn

The entire day is a carefully crafted mix of exercises so participants can learn:

- how to build rapport and stronger ties with contacts

- strategies for effective pre-approach (what you'd need to do before you reach out to people who can help progress your career)

- strategies used by AXC members to overcome introversion and fear

- how to carefully select the events that would deliver your networking objectives

- the right way to reach out to 2nd and 3rd degree contacts on LinkedIn and other social mediums

- from our panel of business Directors and C-suite executives what they're looking for in emerging Directors

- and so much more

Our keynote speaker - Jackie Beere OBE in her talk 'Leading through learning' will help us re-learn how to learn.

About Jackie Beere OBE

Most of the workforce today grew up under the old educational system.  We were taught to memorize facts from textbooks and regurgitate them on an exam.  We later discovered that at work we can’t acquire knowledge that way.  Facts aren’t useful unless you can apply them.  You might have realised too that the knowledge you need now is constantly changing.  And that every day is exam day.  Faced with random challenges, you’d need to act fast.  How then do you prepare?

On November 22, Jackie Beere OBE will share her insight into learning, in her talk ‘Leading through learning’.  Jackie will share a simple process you can use to adapt your leadership style so you’re sought after, today and in the future.

Jackie Beere, who is also an MBA, started work as a journalist.  She later swapped pens and retrained as an educator.  Applying her knowledge of work in the highly regulated British education system, Jackie focused on teaching students how to learn.  She was awarded an OBE for her contribution to education development and has since progressed her career.  She trains educators in her new method of learning.  She is the author of several best-selling books and the upcoming ‘Choose to Grow’ title.  A publication that explains her philosophy so aspiring leaders can utilise it at the office.

Leading through learning – develop a growth mindset that will make you the most creative, flexible leader you can be, inspiring your team with resilience for the eternal quest for improvement.

‘It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.’ - Charles Darwin

Other speakers include AXC members who have devised interesting networking strategies to progress their careers.  Register early to avoid disappointment.
