Join us to learn about some of the Basics of Building a Business

Whether you’re thinking of starting a business, aspire to be an entrepreneur, or you have already begun the journey, this event provides an opportunity to hear from an entrepreneur and three professionals who have enabled the development of his venture.

There are elements that are common to all new companies, how you differentiate, how you hire the best people with limited resources, set your process so that you get paid on time, manage the legal bits of employing people and how to support individual's growth as well as company's growth as you move the company across different stages of it's evolution. If you get any of the above wrong, worse it can kill your company or at best you become a zombie company.

To explore these areas of running a business, the B3 series introduces ideaSpace founders and the professional service providers that have helped them along the way to discuss how they approached such issues and what they think it is important for entrepreneurs to know.

This month Sam Bose, founder of Intellisense.io will introduce:

  • Elpie Bannister, Founder & Director of Boundless Solutions, who will share some thoughts on how to create an environment where individuals and teams can flourish during the intense early stages of organisational growth, and how to establish enduring foundations that enable organisations to scale.
  • Toby Harper, CEO & Corporate Solicitor at Harper James Solicitors who will talk about the legal aspects of raising venture capital funding, along with some of the common pitfalls and things to watch out for.
  • James Barlow, Financial Controller at IntelliSense.io who will guide you on starting a business, scaling a business and the risks and pitfalls to avoid along the way.

Together they will advise you on what you should consider when you set up a company and share some of the common mistakes they see made as well as top tips on what the successful entrepreneurs get right in their areas of expertise.

Learn some of the proactive steps you can take to avoid making mistakes that can have a negative impact on your business.

There will be the opportunity to ask questions and we will end with an open discussion to explore these topics further.
