To call Babajack a Blues band is accurate but is completely underselling them by far. This band takes the Blues by the scruff of the neck and drags it into the 21st Century. Sometimes they caress it, sometimes they cajole it, other times they make no bones about it and wring it's bleedin' neck but always, always with a love and a complete honouring of the traditions of the genre.
It's truly refreshing to find a band that have really pushed the boundaries of the blues. Their track record is there for all to see and second to none in recent times. Lead vocalist Becky Tate has won instrumentalist of the year three times at the British Blues Awards including this year (2015). Trevor Steger who delivers a unique guitar and harp combination finds himself the 2015 runner up in Harmonica Player of The Year...no mean feat at all when the likes of Paul Lamb is around.
Their last album Running Man saw them add bass player Adam Bertinshaw and Drummer/percussionist Tosh Murase and the change broke them to a wider audience. The album was a complete success and won awards in its own right. A new album is expected to coincide with their arrival at the Northcourt so make sure that you don't miss what will be our second album launch for superb British bands.
