What Is 'Ask About Me'?

After the success of previous years, Babbasa's flagship event - Ask About Me - returns once again this time in collaboration with Bristol24/7! The intergenerational networking event will act as a platform for up to 100 young people from inner city Bristol to directly connect with up to 100 attending professionals and learn about different careers and pathways to their industries of interest.

Bristol24/7’s Better Bristol initiative is a collaborative approach to creating positive impact in the city. Creating opportunities for young people has always been a priority for Bristol 24/7 so working with Babbasa was an obvious collaboration. Bristol24/7 will be inviting their wide network of professional contacts in the city and their Better Business members to attend and support the event and its objectives.

6.00 – 6.20     Reception and film screening

6.20 – 7.20     Panel Discussion: “Inclusion – Why does it matter?”

7.20 – 8.30     Intergenerational networking activities and refreshments

The evening will be hosted by the Babbasa Youth Ambassadors. Panellists include Dr Stephen Fear (Fear Group), Channel 4's Yasir Mirza (TBC), and the winner of the SXSW Apprentice Award Marissa Lewis-Peart. More panellists to be announced shortly!

Following on from the evening, there will be the opportunity to join the Babbasa professional Mentoring scheme as either a mentor or mentee. The structured programme runs for a 3-month period, which includes training and guidance. Mentoring induction sessions will be available for mentors in the evening of 28th May and 6th June 2019, and for mentees on 30th May and 5th June 2019. To find out more about our mentoring scheme, email Pravanya on engagement@byep.org.uk.
