About this event

Introducing your little one to solid food can be both exciting and a little bit daunting. There's an awful lot of outdated information, myths, and misleading marketing out there that can make it all feel quite complicated, but it doesn't need to be!

In this small group workshop we will look at the evidence to see what really matters about the whens, whats and hows of weaning. We hope it will empower you to make informed choices that feel right for you, to get started with confidence, and to have fun.

This session is aimed at parents with babies aged 4 to 6 months old who have not yet started weaning, or have started very recently.

It is recommended to stick to milk for the first 6 months and we run this workshop every couple of months, so if your baby is currently under 4 months old we suggest waiting for the next one, there's no rush!

If your baby is older you are welcome to come to our weekly drop-in group for a 1:1 chat about how weaning is going for you. Just tick the "I would like feeding support" box when you sign in. (More info here: https://www.didcotbabymonday.co.uk/)

Capacity is limited. If fully booked please join the waitlist in case of cancellations.

There is no charge to attend - we provide open access support and aim to raise the majority of our funding from grants, but if you would like to make a donation this is much appreciated and there is the option to do so when you book your ticket, or with cash or via Paypal afterwards.

PLEASE NOTE: Didcot Baby Monday is a small, volunteer-led group and our remit is for families in Didcot and surrounding villages. We would love to accommodate families from a further afield but unfortunately we do not have capacity at this time. Please refer to your local health visitor team or children's centre for support available in your area. You are also very welcome to take a look at our recommended resources Padlet: https://padlet.com/didcotbabymonday/DBM.

Please answer the questions when you book - in order to manage demand and meet our grant funding conditions, your booking may not be accepted if you are not already registered with us as an attendee at Didcot Baby Monday or do not meet the criteria above.
