How to live with grief after baby loss

About this event

Through Nikki's own experience of baby loss, she offers a 6 week coaching program delivered online as 6 x 2 hour sessions.

This course will help you understand your grief better and your grief will be normalised. Nikki will help you learn to live with your grief. It's important to understand Nikki will not coach you out of your grief, she will help you learn to live with it.

About Nikki:

Nikki Peterson is a certified and qualified Personal and Executive Coach, she specialises in Change, Loss & Grief Coaching. Nikki is the In-House Coach for Psychologies magazine, the UK's leading mental wellbeing and mindfulness magazine. She also hosts their 'coaching hour' every week on their Facebook page. Nikki is passionate about supporting individuals so they can fully unlock their potential and thrive in all of their lives. She has developed this course using her own experience of baby loss as well as speaking to Psychotherapists and other parents who have suffered from baby loss.

Grief Group Coaching Programme (loose outline)

Week 1:

- Recognising grief

- Understand the pain of grief so you can manage your loss and find a way to live with it

- Understand the importance of grieving properly

- Grief takes time and is unique

Week 2:

- Emotions of grief and realising your emotions are perfectly normal

- Dual Process Model of dealing with bereavement

- The need for self-compassion and restoration

Week 3:

- Identifying your support network

- Getting what you need

- Understanding all relationships with those who have died are unique

Week 4:

- Recognising your feelings and accepting them

- Choosing how to respond to situations instead of reacting to your emotions

- Breath techniques

- Limiting contact with anything that is not helping you (news/social media/friends/family)

Week 5:

- The importance of building in time to enjoy simple pleasures

- Creating a safe place in your head

- Taking care of yourself and giving yourself comfort

Week 6:

- Know that you will move forward and laugh and smile again

- Dealing with grief triggers and future losses

- A toolkit to build calm, resilience, happiness and shifting perspective to a more positive mindset

- Support beyond the coaching programme
