Makaton has been shown to be useful for all sorts of people including those who struggle with understanding concepts, those who have poor literacy skills, including grammatical knowledge, and those with English as an Additional Language. By using Makaton, children and adults can take a more active part in life, because communication and language are the key to everything we do and learn.

Signing for babies is a wonderful way to help your child communicate from and early age and meet with other mothers, you need to sign up for all 6 sessions up front and I will send you out your signing booklet after the first session.

Annie Fielder is a fully licensed Regional Makaton Tutor (Licence ID: 103521), she has two young children who both communicated using Makaton as babies and toddlers and now continue to use it when they are having a challenging time and find it difficult to voice their worries. From the second Annie begun to learn Makaton she was hooked, she literally cannot think of a situation it would not benefit; strongly beleiving that giving everyone a voice is crucial.
