Medicine has a strong affinity with the ‘healing art’ of music that dates back to ancient times; the central aim of Irish Doctors Choir is to keep doctors connected to good music-making despite their demanding careers.  Members of Irish Doctors Choir, with their Musical Director Brian MacKay, come together twice each year to perform challenging and uplifting works from the classical choral repertoire.  They are a not-for-profit organisation whose concerts are given in aid of medical charities, finding exciting performance venues across the island.   The choir also gives smaller performances in local healthcare and education settings. As a commitment to doctors of the future, the choir  sponsors medical student places at their events.
