Wavehill, a social and economic research company who specialize in evaluation work, will be leading a ‘Back to basics’ Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) session with community
organisations in Wrexham. The purpose of this session will be to explore:
- the ‘Why’ of evaluation (i.e. the benefits of evaluation for community organisations and other stakeholders); and
- the ‘How’ of evaluation (i.e. practical tips and guidance on how to plan and undertake effective evaluation).
The workshop will outline how to plan and set up a M&E framework and the value of developing a Theory of Change model to support with evaluation planning. The session will also provide an overview of the different evaluation approaches and data collection methods (i.e. the evaluation tools) that can be used to develop the evidence base. We will discuss when and under which circumstances these tools should be used, the value they provide, and the potential pitfalls.
The aim is to ensure that community organisations are better equipped going forward to demonstrate the good work that they do. There will be two 2-hour sessions taking place online.
