Is Rapé Safe?

When working with rapé, side effects should be expected. The tribes call these reactions “cleaning.” This includes symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, sweating, vomiting, and diarrhea. Not everyone will experience these effects, but it’s best to be prepared.

How to Use Rapé?

Rapé is traditionally used by blowing fine ground-up powder into the nostrils with specialty pipes that can be carved from bone or wood or be a piece of bamboo or reed. The blower will choose the appropriate amount based on the person’s experience level, the strength of the rapé and intention.

How should I prepare for the ceremony?

Take some time to walk in nature and to truly think what is your intention for this ceremony? What do you want to invite in or let go of?

What can I eat or drink?

Accepted Answer

It is advised to not drink caffeinated drinks or alcohol. You can have a light meal but please avoid eating 2h before the ceremony.

How long last do the effects of Rapé last?

Accepted Answer

It depends from person to person but usually the effects of rape subside after 20 mins to 60 mins, some people might feel light headed and a bit tired after the session but this is not true for everybody.

1. WHAT IS BREATHWORK?

Accepted Answer

In short, Breath-work is conscious breathing exercises, with which you can manipulate or change your breathing pattern to have a desired effect on the body.
Research has proven that breathing techniques can directly control both the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system.

2. WHAT IS THE TYPE OF BREATH WORK WE WILL BE USING?

The continuous breathing helps to chemically build you up and takes you to a sympacetic space of our nervous system, where we can break down and release the emotions that have accumulated, are stagnant and unprocessed on our physical and energetic bodies.

3. WHY BREATH WORK?

Accepted Answer

It's the fastest way to get out of your head and connect to both your body and your intuition. For many people, it facilitates an emotional purging, leaving you feeling lighter and clearer. In essence, you are relearning to inhabit your body, establish new pathways in the brain and connect.

4. MISCONCEPTIONS

“I can’t do breathwork, my mind is way too busy.” Breath is the bridge which connects life to consciousness, which unites your body to your thoughts. Whenever your mind becomes scattered, use your breath as the means to take hold of your mind again.

5. MY APPROACH

It is the fastest way to tone your nervous system and allow to self regulate much more easy. So when stressful situations happen in our day instead of not being able to relax, your nervous system automatically will find its way from the sympathetic to a parasympathetic response.

WHAT IS THE BREATH PATTERN?

During the 3 rounds of the activation phase , when we will actively breathe, we will do a 3-part breath, all done through the mouth in a circular or connected pattern. Inhale deep into the belly , a second inhale into the chest and out. We will use two speeds and some air holdings.

8. WHAT I DO IF IT GETS TOO MUCH FOR ME?

Accepted Answer

Resistance from the mind will appear on different levels. The mind could make you sleepy, force you to go into automatic breathing mode, or make you feel this is too much. We will need to identifícate this resistance and slowly try to fight and resist. 
Listen to your body and adapt safely.

9. HOW LONG WILL BE THE PRACTICE?

The breathing we will perform is formed by 3 phases. Initiation, Activation and Integration.
A total of 40 min

10. WILL I HYPERVENTILATE?

Accepted Answer

No. Though the breathing is rapid and can feel awkward or uncomfortable, it is done in a controlled way. If this makes you feel uneasy, you can keep the breath soft and shallow through your practice until you feel comfortable in speeding things up or taking the breath deeper.
