Description

SESSION OUTLINE:

This session is aimed at supporting new users of Blackboard, or anyone wanting to 'brush up' on the basics. Getting in (you and your students), what to do if you, or they, can’t; finding your way around the interface; editing the menu and setting it up as you like/want it; adding/editing/deleting basic content; the dusty end of the fretboard; the control panel; Turnitin (a glance) and groups (a glance).

If you prefer, you can join in on this session via Blackboard Collaborate, a link will be sent to all registered participants on the morning of the session.


N.B. Room pending timetable release, week beginning 17th September. Time also subject to slight change depending on room availability.

Where can I find the location?

Please note the Nanhyfer building does not appear on the Bay Campus map.

  • The Nanhyfer building is located to the west of the Core Food Court on the Bay Campus

  • Enter the building using the entrance facing the Core Food Court

  • Enter the single door ahead of you

  • Continue straight ahead down the corridor signposting you to seminar rooms 4-7

  • Workzone 05 is the second door on your left

Are you offering this session at Singleton or St. David's Park Campus?

A similar session will also be offered repeated at Singleton Campus on Monday 17th September. St David's campus staff are welcome to join via Blackboard Collaborate (see above).

What should I bring to the event?

Please bring some lunch.

A mobile device, preferably laptop/IPad/Tablet to enable full participation and gain the most benefit from the session.

How does this session contribute to my Continuing Professional Development (CPD)?

Each session has been mapped against the most applicable dimensions of the UKPSF. If you're working towards Fellowship, your attendance, reflection and possible application of what you have learned will contribute to you meeting A5 of the UKPSF. If you're already a Fellow, then it will assist you in demonstrating good standing. Don't forget to write up a reflection on the session afterward!
