Event description

Description

Come and join us for networking, shared experiences, inspiring speakers and learn about our commitment to fair trade at our Annual BAFTS' Conference being held this year in the prestigious walled City of York. The dates are Sunday 21st and Monday 22nd May 2017. Details of the Conference Timetable (draft) with timings can be found here. In summary we start the ball rolling with refreshments, suppliers exhibiting on Sunday morning, then listen to interesting supplier stories, plus exciting guest speakers Heather Masoud, from Zaytoun, and Carol Wills, former BAFTS Chair, honorary WFTO member and Voluntary Coordinator of the Revised WFTO Fair Trade Standard, You can then participate in one of three member workshops to suit your needs, then enjoy an evening meal followed by an exciting evening's entertainment. We will be joined by York Fair Trade Forum in the evening and there will be an opportunity for buying then too.

On Monday there will be more supplier stalls exhibiting, additional supplier stories, informed and engaging speakers - Emilie Schultz from Traidcraft, Amanda Galliano from Liberation Nuts, and after lunch, Bruce Crowther, Fair Trade Pioneer and former International Fair Trade Towns Ambassador. After a discussion on resolutions, our formal AGM itself will take place from 3pm-4.30pm. Members and non-members are welcome to come along for one or both days. Admission to the Conference is free. Tickets need to be prebooked for catering purposes, and are ordered according to meal options. There will be vegetarian options. Please email membershipsupport@bafts.org.uk if you need vegan, dairy free, gluten-free or have specific allergies.
