About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Please join the AGC and the States of Guernsey for a lunchtime session to provide your views on the draft Bailiwick Commissioning Framework.

Commissioning is a tool used to design and deliver policy, solutions or services that maximises the use of all available resources to achieve the best outcomes for the Bailiwick.

The Bailiwick Commissioning Framework is being developed by the States of Guernsey’s Commissioning Team in collaboration with the AGC. It is the intention that the Framework will be used to guide future commissioning processes and introduce consistency and best practice.

The Framework will seek to achieve the following:

1. To establish a collective understanding of commissioning using the definition and explanation provided.

2. To promote commissioning, within the current strategic context, as an approach suitable for responding to complex and interconnected problems.

3. To identify commissioning as the most effective approach for ensuring public services meet the needs of the community.

4. To ensure consistency and best practice in commissioning from the introduction of a toolkit for practitioners.

The Framework recognises that the delivery of public services is not a government only activity, and that should provide a strong foundation from which greater and more meaningful partnership working can be established. To achieve this, it’s important that the Framework is developed in collaboration with the charitable sector and represents the views of both sectors.

This lunch session will be your opportunity to provide thoughts and feedback on the Framework prior to its publication. At the session, the States of Guernsey’s Commissioning Team will provide an overview of the Framework, including proposed commissioning principles, the commissioning process and governance structure, which will then be followed by an open feedback discussion. There will also be time after the event to speak with the Commissioning Team on a one-to-one basis if you would prefer to share your thoughts in that way.

The lunch session will commence at 12pm, with the intention that the presentation will start at 12.30pm. A sandwich lunch will be provided from 12pm and if you have dietary requirements, please include these on the booking form.

This event is open to all charity representatives. If you are not representing a charity but would like to find out more about the Bailiwick Commissioning Framework, or have questions about the Framework or event, please get in touch with the States of Guernsey’s Commissioning Team on lily.prus2@gov.gg.

Please note that by registering for this event and providing your contact details, you are giving permission for these details to be shared with the States of Guernsey’s Commissioning Team.
