Event description

Description

Stars n Stripes presents Balanceabilty the UK’s first accredited learn to ride programme for children from 2 ½ specifically to help develop confidence, spatial awareness and dynamic balance.

Balaceability has been awarded the prestigious Kitemark by the Professional Development Board for Physical Education so you can be sure that all of the activities are in-line with National Curriculum Guidance for Early Years & Foundation Stage Development

We combine unique ergonomic balance bikes with a schedule of fun activities that build confidence, spatial awareness and dynamic balance skills enabling young children to transition to pedals without ever needing stabilisers.

Stars n Stripes learn to ride programme is made up of 6 45 min sessions for each level:

· Level One is aimed at children aged 2½ to 4 years old. It focuses on movement patterns, gross motor skills and dynamic balance using a balance bike. Children learn how to pick up, manoeuvre, mount and dismount their bikes and then learn the skills to ride a balance bike safely.

· Level Two is aimed at children aged 4 to 6 years old and continues the development of gross motor skills and dynamic balance. The main goal is to improve the children’s gliding, stopping and braking skills to enable them to ride solo on a pedal bike safely and confidently by the end of the course.

By establishing the fine and gross motor skills that are required for cycling, children will progress naturally through the key stages and experience the joys of riding a bicycle throughout their early childhood and beyond into teenage and adult life.

94% of children aged 4 to 6 years old being able to safely ride a pedal bike at the end of the programme.
