Ready to explore old Ballymena on foot?

Join us on this highly popular tour which is a partnership with Stephen McCracken and Ulster Walking Tours

During the tour we will discover a range of historical buildings that will give an insight into how the town developed from a small village in 1600's and take you through the events of June 1798 and the United Irishmen Rebellion and what happened in Ballymena.

Henry Joy McCracken’s plans were simple. Localised units would take their own towns and villages, Larne, Ballymena, Carnmoney, Ballyclare, Ballymoney, eliminate any military threat, leave a garrison behind and march to Donegore Hill outside Antrim to support the attack on Antrim.
