Explore areas of the building which are normally out of bounds and hear stories from its past as a flour mill to its present as an art gallery.
Heritage Open Days is an annual event every September, where some 40,000 volunteers across England organise 5,000 events to celebrate the country's history and culture.
Led by a member of Baltic Crew, you’ll explore areas of the building which are normally out of bounds, and hear stories from its past as a flour mill to its present as an art gallery.
This tour is suitable for all ages and we’ll adapt content depending on our visitors. All tours are free, and will last approximately 45 minutes.
The Behind the Scenes Tours will take place on the following dates:
- Sat 13 Sep | 11:00-11:45
- Sun 14 Sep | 11:00-11:45
- Sat 20 Sep | 11:00-11:45
- Sun 21 Sep | 11:00-11:45
Baltic Crew are happy to answer questions throughout the tours, and there’ll be the opportunity to take photos along the way. You can find a display exploring Baltic's history as a former flour mill through to its present as the UK's largest dedicated contemporary art institution situated in Baltic Library.
