“Sharing good practice and networking conference”
The event will share good practice and exchange ideas between organisations and what we are doing to improve the recruitment, retention and awareness of BAME issues in the workplace.
There will be presentations from Gwent Police, Cardiff Council, Welsh Government and Her Majesty’s Passport Office about their work. There will also be a presentation by National Training Federation for Wales on apprenticeships and by Empower, who will raise awareness of BAME involvement in Public Appointments.
There will be a panel of senior leaders to answer your questions which will include:
- Sir Derek Jones, Permanent Secretary Welsh Government. TBC)
- Jeff Farrar, Chief Constable Gwent Police.
- Tessy Ojo, CEO The Diana Award.
- Gareth Murray, HMPO.
- Edward Watts Ex-Director Tesco’s
- Paul Orders CEO Cardiff Council.
- Dr Roiyah Saltus South Wales University (TBC)
- Shavana Taj, PCS
This will be followed by a key note speaker, Ms Tessy Ojo, Chief Executive of the Diana Awards.
Networking: Drinks and canapés reception.
Transport: Transport to and from the ONS to be arranged at a later date if required. Any staff member making their own way to the venue will be able to claim back expenses.
NB: Attendees are given permission to claim back any time spent at the conference.
