Event description

Description

Join the Worcestershire branch of the Women's Equality Party in collaboration with Gloucestershire Sisters as we take part in 16 Days of Activism by screening Banaz: A Love Story, an Emmy and Peabody award winning film by Deeyah Khan.

The film chronicles the life and death of Banaz Mahmod, a British Kurdish woman killed in 2006 in South London on the orders of her family. 11 years since Banaz's murder, Gloucestershire Sisters invite us to revisit Banaz's case in this moving film which highlights the incidence of honour based violence in British communities.

There will be an opportunity to stay for a professional discussion and Q&A with Sadia Hameed from Gloucestershire Sisters afterwards.

In order that we can use your money to help fund services like Gloucestershire Sisters we are asking for you to pay on the door but to use Eventbrite to register your place.

Full price: £3.50
WEP members £2.50
Concessions: £2.00

We have a number of FREE spaces for community groups - please register here and contact us about who you are and how many people you will be bringing.

This event is sponsored by the University’s Centre for Violence Prevention.

And in partnership with Gloucestershire Sisters
