BANG Monthly Event
Wed 26 April 2017, 17:30 – 20:30 BST
BANG Members and Friends,
This month’s event will look at our Profession, and how BANG should develop and represent you in the future?
Also there will be a presentation on the fact that there are lots of articles, books and training courses that explain how to do Business Continuity but very few, if any, that explain how not to do it. In this presentation, Nick Simms of Cornwood Consulting will draw on nearly 30 years of experience in the sector to give examples of where practitioners have got it badly wrong.
Hear about the flawed Business Impact Analysis that cost £100m and the exercise that was so realistic that the national news reported 76 deaths. Then there is the tenant who ignored the landlord's advice and evacuated the staff potentially into harm's way after a phoned bomb threat and why it is not a good idea for two members of the Business Continuity team to come to blows over the R|A|G (Red, Amber, Green) status of the recovery preparedness.
I'm sure each of you has lots of similar situations to contribute, but best when we meet on Wednesday night.
(p.s. Put in your diary Friday 30th June 2017, when BANG will be holding its 2nd Annual Resilience Symposium at the Institute of Chartered Accountants for England & Wales (ICAEW), One Moorgate Place, London, EC2R 6EA)
