EAT DRINK LOVE ITALIAN invites you to a private (not your usual) reception .
A NEON LEGACY: a celebration of the life and work of the artist CHRIS BRACEY. An exhibition organised by BANKROBBER (Robin Barton)
For ten nights BANKROBBER transforms Shepherd Market into a neon theatre set, celebrating both its 'Mayfair past' and its present.
Chris Bracey was the go-to Neon Man for over 37 years and has created iconic artworks for some of the world's leading contemporary artists, including David La Chappelle and Martin Creed.
Chris and his team made, installed and collected signs for over three decades. To mark two years since his ultimately passing at the age of just 59, during the London Frieze Art week, Bankrobber is honouring his life and work bringing back the sexy side of Shepherd Market.
This fantastic initiative stands on “Eat Drink Love Italian’s” own street, as at 4 Shepherd Street (Mayfair) it has a new exciting project in working progress: ITALIANS CLUBHOUSE.
It’s a members’ only Clubhouse, where you won’t have to be Italian to join, you just have to enjoy the Italian lifestyle. At the moment you can have a glimpse and a taste of what is to come, as it is functioning as temporary showroom gallery. Its peculiarity stands in the fusion created between Italian and British artists, that makes things more interesting. On this particular occasion you will be able to meet Marcus Bracey and admire his family’s neon legacy. At the event you will also be able to see a preview of Carolina Maggio’s artwork, which we plan to host soon.
We look forward to seeing you on Thursday the 13th, and are sure you’ll have a great time!
