Pay As You Feel – all funds go back into supporting our gallery and workshop programme

Protest has a long and powerful history – from civil rights marches to Pride parades – and banners have always been at the heart of that history. This workshop invites you to explore the political power of visual protest. Inspired by our ongoing fight for trans rights, and in light of recent legal changes threatening LGBTIQ+ freedoms, we’ll come together to show solidarity and make our voices seen.

You’ll learn practical techniques for designing effective, eye-catching protest signs – whether for use at a rally, to hang in your window, or to feature in our gallery. Great signs can amplify your message and spark conversations online and in the streets. Whether you’re a first-time protester or a seasoned activist, join us to make something bold, beautiful and radical.

Can’t attend the protest? No problem. You can still be seen. Create a sign to take home, display in your neighbourhood, or leave it with us – we’ll show it proudly in our windows. We’ll also be documenting the workshop and sharing pictures of participants and their signs (with consent) on our website and social media.
