Banshee Presents: Kate Bryan In Conversation With Eleanor Nairne

About this Event

Banshee is so thrilled to announce our June event (our most exciting yet) Kate Bryan In Conversation with Eleanor Nairne. Eleanor Nairne is an Art Historian and Curator at The Barbican. Her recent exhibitions include “Basquiat: Boom For Real” (2017) and Imran Qureshi: Where The Shadows Are So Deep” (2016)

We’re looking forward to inviting Kate Bryan to the stage at @librarylondon to talk to Eleanor about her Lee Krasner exhibition opening at The Barbican in June.

Kate Bryan will also talk about the launch of her new book The Art Of Love launching in June which tells the story of over 30 artist couples. Kate hopes to bring a larger audience to art through the prism of romance and breakups.

Eleanor Nairne is Curator at the Barbican Art Gallery, London. Her recent exhibitions include Basquiat: Boom for Real (2017) and Imran Qureshi: Where the Shadows are so Deep (2016). She is currently working on a retrospective of American abstract expressionist Lee Krasner, which will open in May 2019 before touring to three European institutions. She is a contributor to frieze and is a previous Jerwood Writer in Residence. Prior to the Barbican she was Curator of the Artangel Collection at Tate, where she organised exhibitions of work by artists including Francis Alys, Yael Bartana, Jeremy Deller, Catherine Yass and Mike Kelley.

Kate Bryan is a British art historian, curator and arts broadcaster. In 2016 Bryan became Head of Collections for Soho House globally. Bryan wrote and presented the art television series Galleries on Demand which aired every week in 2016 on Sky Arts
