Description

Baptist Assembly in Scotland 2017 - Evening Celebrations

Thursday 26th & Friday 27th October, 7-9pm

Motherwell Concert Hall

Messengers of Hope

Throughout the Bible there is a concept of God using messengers to communicate with his own people and others. Whilst he speaks directly to key individuals, those individuals are regularly used to convey the message to a larger audience, like Moses and Jonah. As the New Testament unfolds, John the Baptist’s message of repentance prepares the way for Jesus. Progressing through the New Testament, we encounter a variety of messengers, people like Paul, Timothy and Titus, who take messages between churches.

Thursday Evening

We will be joined by our speaker Rev Juliet Kilpin, an urban mission advocate and activist; we will be welcoming international and denominational guests as well as Dr Kang-San Tan, the new General Director for BMS World Mission to his first Assembly with us here in Scotland and we will be led in sung worship by Ilse Ogston and Satellite.

Friday Evening

We will be joined by our speaker Rev Dr Stuart Blythe, Acadia Divinity College in Nova Scotia; we will be welcoming new ministers; commissioning new Trustees and Council Members and we will be led in sung worship by Ilse Ogston and Satellite.

Tickets for the Evening Celebrations are Free!

Join us as we explore further what it means to be Messengers of Hope.
