Event description

Description

This free workshop is intended for Primary Maths Leads and Primary SLT with curriculum responsibility.

Throughout the workshop, there will be opportunities to interpret, create and use bar models in problem solving contexts.

Content:

  • Importance of representations in the learning of mathematics

  • Using bar modelling to support problem solving

  • Introducing / developing bar modelling in your school

If bar modelling is new to your school, this workshop will give you a good starting point for introducing them.

If your school has already embraced bar modelling, this workshop will provide you with new perspectives and a deeper understanding of their practical applications.

The workshop is adapted from professional development materials that we provide to schools in our national partnership.

If you have further questions about the content or logistics of this event, please contact the presenter, Fin McLaughlin, at Mathematics Mastery: fin.mclaughlin@mathematicsmastery.org
