BAR TRASH celebrates our 3rd year and 10th sensational season with WE ARE TRASH!, a fan-made mixtape of cult and chaotic cinema (May to Aug 2025).
In dystopian sci-fi epic LOGAN'S RUN (1976), Michael York plays Logan 5, a Sandman authorised to terminate runners fleeing Carousel, a compulsory, soaring, spinning trip to eternity and supposed rebirth for everyone aged 30. Logan 5 is almost 30.
Described as “Jazzily effective and even poetic” by The New York Times, LOGAN’S RUN features cinema’s first use of laser holography (yes, that really was a thing) which helped it win the Special Achievement Academy Award for Visual Effects (from before they were given out annually). "A vast, silly extravaganza that delivers a certain amount of fun, once it stops taking itself seriously" (Roger Ebert)
Polite notice: We are showing the LOGAN'S RUN with English subtitles from the best available digital source.
