How it will work?

You will work in teams, playing the role of an IT development consultancy. Your team will be provided with a project brief, from which you will have to prepare and develop a detailed proposal document for a IT solution. The proposal should include a prototype, and a supporting plan including an estimations document outlining schedule, resourcing model, costs and risks.

Once you have secured your place on the Challenge we will hold a quick workshop onsite at Edge Hill to allocate you into teams and to give you more detail about the Tech Challenge on Thursday 2nd November at 2pm.

Initial planning will take place at Barclays Technology Centre, Radbroke on Wednesday 8th November. Prior to the launch day, each team will be assigned mentors who will support in planning the task.

Full preparation of the proposal will take place over the one month period between the launch and finals day.

•You will have access to a further three hours of mentoring over a given period and you may arrange to do this via telephone conference, other collaboration tools or face-to-face meetings (if feasible).

•If there is more than one team attending from your university, you will be invited to an internal presentation assessment held by your university tutors who will select one team to go forward to the finals.

•One team from each University will attend the finals day on 6th December at UK Fast in Manchester.

•At the finals day, you will be invited to present your proposal to a panel of business and technology leaders who will evaluate your solution.

•Valuable feedback will be provided.

For the winners, a money can’t buy prize will be the opportunity of work experience with Barclays and UK Fast.
