Bardo - The After Death Experience
Sat 8 April 2017, 15:30 – 17:30 BST
The experiences of birth, aging, sickness and death are inevitable, and although encountered by all beings are often difficult to accept. This course is a meeting point between Buddhism and modern Western science that gives the participant a fascinating insight to the philosophy of life & death in Tibetan Buddhism.
Traditional in its origins it has been designed for Western students as a practical guide, to help participants prepare for their own rebirth as well as understand the process of death; before, during and after. It can also benefit those wishing to support others through this challenging transition.
The five sessions will include how to prepare for death, the signs that occur at the time of death, the 6 stages of Bardo and how this fits into a continuous cycle of rebirth. These teachings enhance our understanding of how precious our human life is.
