Description

The Barking Folk Festival is one of the key events in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham's Summer of festivals' programme.

The free festival on Sunday 10 June starts at Abbey Green from 11am with a stage featuring folk music and dance from around the world, workshops and family entertainment.

Sunday’s evening programme in the Abbey Ruins is dedicated to women and ‘the art of protest’ to mark the 100th anniversary of women winning the vote.

The evening concert in the beautiful setting of Abbey Ruins showcases the best names in folk music headlined by The Unthanks:

  • 3.50pm - Playful Protest Parade
  • 4pm - Barking & Dagenham's Women's Anthem
  • 4.15pm – Nancy Kerr
  • 5.05pm – Grace Petrie
  • 6.05pm – Lucy Ward
  • 7.10pm – Stick in the Wheel
  • 8.30pm – The Unthanks

Plus food and drink available at the Abbey Ruins.

Due to the limited capacity of Abbey Ruins, free priority tickets will be available for the Sunday event but will not guarantee entry as it will be on a first come first served basis.

Gates open at 3pm with the first act performing at 3.50pm so get there early to avoid disappointment!
