Barrel Craft Workshop using traditional tools
Overview
Join Token of the Forest at Orchard Barn for a day of learning new skills, meeting new people and coming away with your very own handmade gift.
The Venue - Orchard Barn is an Off Grid Environmental Education Centre, set in the beautiful woodlands of Battisford. A completely off grid site, it's the perfect venue to switch off from the outside world and just focus on your creations. We will use one of the restored barns to run these workshops, where you get to learn how to use a range of traditional carpentry tools. We will use augers, brace and bit drills, hand drills, handsaws and more.
What will you make - Using recycled whisky barrels you will have the choice to create one of the following items:
- Candle holder
- Wooden Christmas tree
- Wine glass holder
- Bottle opener
Joe will teach and support you throughout the session to create your item of choice. Materials are provided, so you just need to bring yourself. We will have tea, coffee, and biscuits available.
Please make sure you wrap up warm as there is not always heating in the barn. And be aware that the toilet is a composting toilet in a hut outside of the barn.
Free parking is available on a large concrete pad opposite the entrance to Orchard Barn.
