Join us for this engaging online session exploring how people living with the rare condition hereditary angioedema (HAE) experience long-term treatment. Drawing on findings from a qualitative research study, we will take a closer look at what helps and what hinders adherence to long-term prophylaxis (LTP), a treatment designed to prevent life-threatening swelling episodes.
The session will use a health psychology lens to explore the psychological, social, and systemic factors influencing treatment adherence.
What you will gain from the session:• Insight into the lived experience of managing a rare condition• Understanding of the barriers and enablers to treatment adherence• Application of health psychology theory in the context of rare disease• Opportunities to reflect on how health psychologists can support behaviour change and improve care systems
