About this Event

This session will help you to break down the barriers to engaging volunteers.

There is a plethora of willing volunteers out there, are your systems and anxieties limiting who you involve.

This training session will look at :

Mental Health: How you can support people with mental health issues to volunteer. What does it mean to have mental health issues? Risk, real and perceived.

Disabled People: How to overcome some of the physical barriers to enable disabled people to volunteer. Whose barriers are they anyway? Making reasonable adjustments .

Ex Offenders: DBS checking minefield. We will look at when you should DBS and when you shouldn't. What are the implications. Minimising risk.

The session is suitable for anyone working with volunteers, staff and Trustees.

We are delivering this session in partnership with Havering Volunteer Centre. Therefore, HVC members will received a £20 discount. If you are a member please email us before booking.
