Do I need to be a certified coach to attend?

Nope! Coaches at all levels are welcome, from those still in training to seasoned practitioners. There is also no cost to join these sessions!

Question 2

What if I don’t feel confident enough to coach yet?

Totally fine. You can request to observe a session instead, as long as both coaches agree to be observed in their breakout. Just let us know at the start of the session and we will try to work it out.

Question 3

Can I use these sessions toward ICF coaching hours?

Accepted Answer

Yes! These count as barter coaching hours and can be logged toward your ICF credential or simply as valuable practice experience.

What is the session format?

Each session includes a short welcome and setup, then you'll be paired for two coaching rounds (coach + coachee). After each round, there’s time for reflective feedback and a full group debrief.

Will I receive feedback on my coaching?

Yes. You’ll get high-quality and helpful peer feedback in a supportive environment — great for building your skills and confidence.

How long is the session?

90 minutes in total, including coaching, feedback, and time for connection and reflection.

Is this part of a larger programme

Yes, these practice sessions are hosted by the Basecamp Coaching Community. Basecamp is a coaching membership for learning, practicing, and growing together. There is no cost to join. You don’t need to be a member to attend, but you’ll get a feel for what we’re all about!

What do I need to bring?

Just yourself. You can come with a coaching topic in mind, and a notebook and pen are useful, but it’s not required. Bring curiosity and a willingness to learn — that’s all!

Can I come every month?

Absolutely. These sessions run monthly and you’re very welcome to return again and again.

What if I’m running late—can I still join?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, no. We allocate coaching partners and breakout rooms at the start of the session. Once rooms are set, we’re unable to reassign unless a coach is waiting without a partner, which isn’t guaranteed.To get the full experience, please arrive on time (or a few minutes early if you can).
