Event description

Description

Following on from previous divisional days, the BASES division of Physical Activity for Health are pleased to announce the next divisional day which will take place at the University of Essex on 14th September 2017.

Attendance is free for BASES members (lunch is not provided) and the day will provide useful networking, continuous professional development, and research talks related to physical activity for health.

We would encourage delegates to submit to present their work.

Ketnote talk: the keynote talk will be given by Dr Alex Rowlands from the University of Leicester entitled: Beyond physical activity: Using accelerometers to assess physical
behaviours 24/7

Speed Networking: In this session we will ask you to meet with 7 other delegates to identify potential links for collaboration or simply to find out what others are doing in the area of physical activity for health.

Divisional Meeting: The divisional meeting is where we will outline progress so far in relation to the BASES divisional of Physical Activity for Health but it is also a forum for you as members to discuss what you want the division to do, what you might be able to contribute to the division (e.g., running workshops or webinars) as well as any other discussion around the remit of BASES.

Research presentations: Submissions for oral presentation are open and we will be using the 5 slides in 5 minutes format. This presentation format entails a 5 minute presentation (5 slides) followed by 2 minutes of questions. Presentations can focus on studies already completed but we are also happy for early career researchers or research students to present proposed methods/designs of forthcoming work in order to receive constructive and developmental feedback. Presentation at the divisional meeting also does not preclude you from presenting data elsewhere.

If you would like to present at the divisional day please send a brief summary (250 words) of the work you wish to present abstract style, in word format to Mike Duncan: Michael.duncan@coventry.ac.uk Please also include title and affiliation.
