TfGM is offering a discounted, Basic Bike Maintenance course run by qualified instructors

Our Cycle Maintenance starter course will give you the knowledge to check your bike is safe to ride and enable you to cope if you have a problem whilst out and about. It is best to bring your own bike but let us know if you need one providing. The course lasts around two hours and our qualified instructor might cover;

  • What the parts of your bike are - and what they do
  • Things you should check before each ride
  • Simple adjustments – e.g. brakes and gears to make sure they work smoothly and safely
  • Tools you might need and how to use them
  • How to mend punctures
  • Cleaning and lubrication

All tickets can be bought online from our official ticket agent, Eventbrite. Booking fees are already included in your discounted ticket price of £5. If you are unable to make payments online please contact the cycling team on 0161 244 1000 or email cycle.training@tfgm.com

Shortly after an order is placed, you will receive your email confirmation for the transaction and your PDF ticket(s). Please contact us as soon as possible if the confirmation email and PDF ticket(s) don’t arrive when expected and we will investigate and re-send your ticket(s).

All tickets are non-refundable, and their resale for profit or commercial gain or use in promotions or packages without the express permission of Transport for Greater Manchester is prohibited and may render them void.

If you can no longer attend a pre-paid course please contact us immediately. If notification is made at least 48 hours prior to the date of training we will make reasonable attempts to find you an alternative training course at no extra cost. We will not be able to make adjustments if you fail to attend without notification or if notification is made after the initial training date.

Attendees aged 12 - 16 must be accompanied by a parent/responsible person for the duration of the course.
