Event description

Description

This introductory course gives students a solid grounding in basic marine plumbing and electrics. Electrical theory including electrical definitions, Ohms law, cables, fuses, circuits, batteries, generators, solar, wind chargers and more are covered. A typical marine domestic hot water system is explained along with engine cooling, fresh water & bilge pump systems, tanks and pipe work, cockpit drains etc. This course is intended to give a firm foundation for further study and enable participants to design simple systems. A certificate of attendance is given at the end of the course.

The course will be run by our instructor David Sales and is classroom based

Day One: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Day Tw: 8:30 am to 4:30pm

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Parking is available at the college.

By Train: -There are two stations in Oulton Broad; both of which are just a short walk from the college.

Oulton Broad North is on the Norwich Lowestoft line which is the nearest to IBTC

Oulton Broad South is on the Ipswich Lowestoft line and a 10 minute walk away.

Lowestoft is the last stop on each line after Oulton Broad.

The nearest airport is Norwich.
