The National Day Nurseries Association is working with Hampshire County Council to provide registered early years settings with Safeguarding training.
'Basic Safeguarding and Child Protection' is the first of 2 courses; it will be delivered in 2 x 1hour sessions. You will also have access to our Early Years Development Zone enabling you to download resources to compliment this training and your certificate (you will have to attend both sessions to access your certificate).
This course will help you to:

Differentiate the terms safeguarding and child protection

Identify legislation and legal requirements relating to safeguarding and child protection

Apply the Prevent duty to your setting and local procedures for safeguarding children

Locate the Hampshire LSCB website

Identify different types of abuse and explore some of the signs, symptoms, indicators and behaviours of abuse

Explore what might prevent children from disclosing
-
Know the importance of following both your own setting and the Hampshire LSCB procedures.
