Basic First Aid

Basic life support with AED
A cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. A person's chance of survival falls by about 10%* for each minute that passes without defibrillation.
The risk of death can be reduced if you have a defibrillator in your workplace and know how to use it.
Every second matters and this course will give you the confidence to act quickly and effectively. Most importantly, the course will also teach defibrillator operators how to perform effective CPR.

Why attend this course
First Aid courses provide first aid training for Adults. These interactive, confidence-building courses are held locally, and will provide plenty of opportunity to practice techniques and ask questions.  Our course teaches the essential skills that an AED operator needs and gives students the confidence to know what to do in an emergency.

Who should attend this course
If you are interested in refreshing your first aid skills and want to learn how to use an AED

This course can be taught as a Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (QCF)

Duration: This course covers at least 3 hours of training and is usually run in 1 day

Prices depend on the certificate option, either a standard certificate of a QCF certificate. The training is always the same regardless of the certificate you choose. Both certificate options include a First Aid training pack.

Six South London, Nursery Schools and Children’s Centres, with a long history working with children and families.

We believe every child deserves the best possible start in life and support to fulfill their potential. A child’s experience in the early years has a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own right, and provides the foundation for children to make the most of their own abilities and talents as they grow.
STEEP's mission is to support those working with young children and their families through the provision of a range of high quality professional development opportunities including:
  • Support and Training for Childminders,
  • Initial Teacher Education,
  • CPD for Early Years professionals in schools and settings.
