BASICS North West Annual Conference

BASICS North West would like to invite you to our inaugural pre-hospital emergency care conference. Held at the Holiday Inn next door to Cheshire Oaks we have a host of guest speakers from across the world of emergency care coming to speak, with much more yet to be confirmed.
Confirmed speakers so far include:
Dr Tim Smith, an Emergency Department Consultant and BASICS responder, will be delivering his excellent traumatic cardiac arrest seminar which will touch on some of the interesting new concepts that are being researched around TCA.
Professor Sir Keith Porter talking about The Changing Face of Major Trauma, which looks at the complete change over the last couple of decades from RTCs through to low energy falls in the elderly.
Mrs Elizabeth Hickson, a paramedic lecturer, and recently appointed Trustee for Education with the College of Paramedics will be enlightening us to the changing face of paramedic education as well as some of the changes that the College of Paramedics are currently lobbying for.
Mr Tony Bonser, an advocate for end of life care and a Macmillan volunteer, he will be talking about end of life care and why choice matters in death, as well as his personal experience with EoLC.
Mr Phil Keating, an offshore medic and prehospital trauma life support instructor, will be talking about the challenging aspects of dealing with a casualty when they are on the top of a wind turbine! Rope, water, and general access issues!
This event is promised to be a jam packed event running throughout the day, with lunch provided as well as regular tea and coffee breaks!
