Come along to our Zoom event, to join the discussion & have your say about the future of the creative sector in Basildon & South Essex!

About this event

We are looking forward to seeing you at Basildon's conversation on the creative sector in South Essex. We want to know what you need to thrive. Where the untapped potential is? What might help make more happen? How can we work together? And your input is vital.

This event is part of a wider conversation that will inform a strategic Cultural Infrastructure Plan. The research has been commissioned by ASELA (the Association of South Essex Local Authorities) who have committed to a programme of work and practical interventions to support and grow the Creative Industries across South Essex.

The research is being led by a working group of 12 artists, designers and organisations, including Bas Arts Index, Metal, Tilbury on the Thames Trust, The Old Waterworks and TOMA.

How will it work?

This inclusive and engaging event will be conducted via Zoom.

Six creative projects and businesses based in Basildon will present their work and ideas in a fun and informative 3 Min Wonder format. Following this there will be an opportunity for you, the audience, to have your say through breakout room discussions.

Our line up of speakers include Sculpture Studios, T.I.M.E., writer Laura Mauro, The Craft Shed and more!

These events: the presentations, discussion and questions will inform our research and allow us to capture what the sector needs.

We are really excited by this opportunity to raise the voices of individual creative practitioners and small businesses that make up the majority of creative industries in South Essex, to inform the regional conversation.

Join the conversation and book your free ticket!

We are hosting five other sharing and discussion events like this - each featuring speakers from the creative sector, working in the ASELA areas of Basildon, Brentwood, Castle Point, Rochford, Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock. Make sure to check out the other events HERE, even if you are not based in that area.
