Our speaker:

Christine Fountain and David Moxon, Solent University

Christine is Head of FE HE at Southampton Solent University, working with colleagues at Solent and FE colleges to enhance and develop a dynamic and collaborative Higher Education provision. Previously Interim Academic Director School of Business and Law Christine is an academic leader with proven success in leading a diverse and challenging Business School provision. Earlier as Principal Lecturer she led the post graduate and professional courses and colleague teams at Southampton Solent University. She is a Senior Fellow HEA, FCMI, Chartered MCIPD and Associate Professor.

David is responsible for the development of apprenticeship provision within the University a role established in June 2016 having been has been part of the trailblazer development of the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship, during 2015. More recently he is involved with the trailblazer development for his own industry, Higher Education.

David has worked in Higher Education for over 10 years having previously spent over 20 years' in Corporate Banking and Corporate Finance. David was Programme Group Leader for Business undergraduates at Southampton Solent University from 2011-16 and was also acting Director (Operations) for the School of Business and Law for 2015-16.

An Elected Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers he obtained an MBA through Sheffield Business School and is registered with The British Psychological Society. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Chartered Management Institute, David is also an external examiner at other Universities.

Thames Valley Branch is one of the largest CIPD branches in the country with over 4,300 members across Oxfordshire, Berkshire and North Hampshire.

We aim to support, inform and inspire everyone who has an interest in people management in the Thames Valley area.
