It is estimated that £105 billion is lost annually due to employee mental health issues (Department of Health, 2016).

Did you know 95% of employees suffering from stress cite a different reason for their absence when they call in sick (YouGov poll of 2,060 employees in England & Wales, 2014), so are suffering in silence.

It doesn’t have to be this way: this interactive and practical workshop will help you to create the right culture to support individuals; avoid discrimination issues; reduce the costs of absence; increase engagement.

Our speaker:

David Beeney - Breaking the Silence

David Beeney had a successful career in media for 36 years including becoming the Managing Director of the Northants Evening Telegraph and spent the last 13 years at Auto Trader as a Commercial Director.

Alongside his media career, he started training as a mental health counsellor over seven years ago and has been qualified for the past two years. He does his counselling for the charity Mind on a voluntary basis.

David suffered in silence in the workplace until he ‘outed’ himself and now helps organisations to improve how they deal with this complex and increasingly visible area.
