Basket Making Taster Session as part of Dacorum Creative Showcase and Boxmoor Canal Festival
Using Bramble from the hedgerow or Willow from the tree, we will learn how to weave a small simple basket, whilst enjoying the comings and goings of all life alongside the banks of the Boxmoor canal and maybe you might get to know the story of why Heron, Weasel and Bramble came to be known for some of their peculiar characteristics!
This is a FREE family friendly event and open to all ages
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult
We have 10 spaces available each morning for those who would like to learn a little more about ancient craft & basket making, which was very much a part of our local heritage within the community.
It’s our desire to keep these traditions, skills and crafts accessible, remembered and enjoyed within our contemporary communities of Boxmoor today.
No experience necessary, this is a great opportunity to get creative and try something new. Don't miss out on this hands-on experience.
As this event is taking place within a larger event held at Fishery Wharf Cafe, there will be no on site parking available. If arriving by car, it is recommended to park at Boxmoor Train Station Car Park situated on London Road (£2.50p.day - 2 minutes walk) or Camelot Rugby Club (free - 5 minutes walk)
