Introductory Bat Detector and Field ID Workshop.
This workshop will be delivered by the Bat Conservation Trust as part of their National Bat Monitoring Programme and is designed to train new volunteers and enable existing volunteers to refresh their skills. The course is being funded and run as part of the Cotswold Canals Connected Project which aims to restore the Stroudwater Navigation Canal from Stonehouse to Saul Junction. The course will involve a two-hour session finishing just before sunset covering UK bat species, echolocation and bat identification followed by a 90-minute practical field session identifying bats using different types of bat detector. The field session will be on an unmade path and will require crossing a number of stiles. Please wear appropriate clothing
