Entry is by ticket available on Eventbrite, so please do ensure you book if you wish to have a place.

Please do wear clothing and footwear that is suitable for the weather and has some protection like the clothing you would wear for a country walk.

The walk will follow the brook and the park groups bat enthusiasts will explain about the lives of bats, the habitats they require and how they live locally in the park.

During the walk the group will be able to listen to their high pitched bat sounds using bat detectors.

There will be a chance to ask questions and learn more about our lovely local park.

Frequently asked questions

Where do we meet for the walk?

Just inside the gate entrance of Bramshall Road Park on Hockley Road.

What do we need to bring and wear?

Wear clothing suitable for the weather, and also insects. It may be also getting cold at that time. Also please wear suitable footwear / walking boots / wellies/ old trainers. If you have a bat detector you are welcome to bring it along to use.

What happens if the weather is poor?

If it is raining or very windy we will cancel the event as the bats won't be coming out into the park. This is why it helps to have a contact point / number via Eventbrite so we can contact you for this reason.

Is the bat walk open to everyone?

Yes - the walk is along the pathway within the park, this is suitable for assistance scooters. The walk is suitable for all people who are able to listen & understand about the lives of bats. We will need to be quiet so not to scare the bats

Are you able to just turn up on the night?

No - people will need to book their tickets via Eventbrite. This is to ensure that there aren't too many people so everyone can get a chance to ask questions and hear our bat enthusiast speaking and explaining about the lives of the bats in the park

Where can I park if I drive ?

It is advisable NOT to park at the main park car park by the bowls club as this gate will be locked at night. May we suggest you either park in a legally permitted space on the road side or in the nearby leisure centre car park (fee payable).

Is the walk Free?

Yes - it is free of charge and a great learning opportunity.
