Join us for an exciting evening of bat spotting at the Field Studies Council - Slapton Ley. Get ready to explore the dark and mysterious world of bats as we venture into their natural habitat. Led by experienced guides, this in-person event promises an unforgettable experience.

No prior knowledge required. The centre will provide bat detectors, but feel free to bring your own. You may wish to bring a torch and coat for the evening walk.

At Slapton Ley Field Centre we are passionate about sharing the Field Studies Councils message and encouraging outdoor education and environmental awareness for all. We aim to organise valuable sessions to help engage locals and visitors with our beautiful landscape we are lucky to call home. Events will utilise Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve, which we are lucky to manage and maintain, as well as Slapton Sands beach and the surrounding South Devon area.
