Join SDNPA Ranger Jake Barnes and Queen of Darkness Elinor for an unforgettable evening, embracing the darkness! We are hoping to encounter bats before they head to their hibernation roosts for the winter, and using UV torches, discover nocturnal wildlife that biofluoresces! If the night is clear, we will also do some stargazing. Perfect for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Don't miss this magical adventure!
The walk will be approximately 3km and we'll be setting off as the sun is setting so please bring a torch and binoculars if you have some. We'll follow undulating paths on the heath so please wear sturdy footwear and note the ground is uneven in places.
Meeting point – Iping Common Car Park, West Sussex (near to Midhurst) - ///drizzly.work.volcano
Terrain: Some unstable tracks, please wear sturdy footwear.
Distance: ~3km
No dogs please. We recommend attendees wear suitable clothing for the weather as it can be cool at night. We also recommend long trousers, closed-toe shoes and bring a torch and possibly insect repellent!
