Event description

Description

This talk by the Bat Conservation Trust (www.bats.org.uk) will look at the wonderful hidden world of bat sound that is often going on around us beyond our hearing range . It will look at how bats make sound, the different sounds produced by different species, how they adapt their echolocation calls to their surroundings, and how bats communicate with each other and what they are saying.

We will look at the different types of technology we use to detect, hear and record bat sound, and there will be interactive activities enabling audience members to try these out for themselves. There will be information on how people can get involved with detecting and monitoring bats in their local area.

Led by Phillip Briggs
