Bats at Applecross

Come join us for a exciting evening exploring the mysterious world of bats at Applecross Community Woodland! This in-person event will start in Applecross by the gate leading to Carnach woodland and the Hebridean Barns, where you'll have the chance to learn all about these fascinating creatures and use detectors to uncover their ultrasonic world. Listen out for these nocturnal animals hunting their prey as we venture along the woodland edge and observe their behaviour. Don't miss out on this opportunity to discover the secrets of our only winged mammals!

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to bring

A head torch or other torch for making your way back from the Woodland once darkness has fallen and a midge net if you have one. Some will be available.

Can I bring children to this event?

Yes children are definitely welcome but must be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian.

Are toilets available?

There are public toilets at the Public Car park in Applecross and there is a composting toilet at Woodland Shelter.
