About this event

  • Event lasts 5 hours

We will be working in partnership with the Bollin Valley Partnership Rangers at Lindow Common. Lindow Common is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) which is managed to maintain its special heathland qualities. By removing the self-seeded birch trees that grow here, we prevent the area from quickly reverting to woodland and safeguard the endangered lowland heathland habitat at Lindow Common.

Work will include use of hand tools such as loppers and saws. Equipment and training will be provided.

This work party will run from 10am-3pm and we will be meeting at Lindow Common Car Park.

Bring lunch and your own work gloves if you have them, and please wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear (steel toe caps if you have them). Long trousers, long sleeves, and warm layers are recommended!

The session is outdoors so make sure you have waterproofs and sun protection as needed as we will not have any shelter from the elements. Please also make sure you bring enough water and food to keep you going throughout the day. This working party is aimed at adult volunteers.
